Seaside Montessori Staff


Seaside Montessori recognizes the importance of the influence staff have on your child.  In consideration of this we exercise the appropriate background and reference reviews on all teaching candidates at the school.  A Montessori qualified lead teacher will lead the daily classroom activities.  Assistant teachers will maintain at a minimum a Teacher level qualification with the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care (EEC).

Rachel M. Gilroy  |  Director & Lead Teacher

Seaside Montessori is owned and managed by Rachel (Kelly) Gilroy, born and raised in Hull, MA.  Miss Rachel launched Seaside Montessori in the fall of 2011 acting as Director and Lead Teacher for the program since that time. 


Miss Rachel graduated from Hull High School in 1992. In 1996, Miss Rachel graduated cum laude earning her Bachelor of Arts (B.A) in Mathematics with a concentration in Elementary Education (ages 6-12) from Assumption College, in Worcester, MA. In 2006, Miss Rachel earned an International Diploma in Montessori Pedagogy for Early Childhoood (ages 3-6) from the Montessori Centre International in London, England.  Miss Rachel is certified by the Department of Early Education & Care at a Director II level.


Miss Rachel held the role of children's house (ages 3-6) classroom Lead Teacher at the Woodside Montessori Academy in Millis, MA from 2003 – 2005. 


In addition to her education credentials, Miss Rachel brings a unique level of business acumen to the role. Miss Rachel is a former Vice President of Brown Brothers Harriman (BBH). Among other roles, she served as the European Training Manager for BBH. While at BBH, Miss Rachel lived and worked in Boston, Dublin, & Luxembourg providing her with an international and multi-cultural perspective, which is invaluable in this day and age.

Denise McCabe / Teacher

Miss Denise graduated magna cum laude earning her Bachelor of Science (B.S) in pre-med from Fordham University in New York, NY.  Miss Denise performed research in both Cornell University, NY and Columbia University, NY in Immunology for seven years prior to becoming a Research Scientist at Genzyme Corporation in Massachusetts. While the highlight of her research career has been her published work co-developing a drug for Breast Cancer that is now in Phase 3 Clinical Trials, it is her love of all things science that she brings to the classroom that brings her so much happiness.


Ms. Denise obtained her American Montessori Society (AMS) training and early childhood (ages 3-6) teaching credentials from Northeast Montessori Institute in Wenham, Ma in 2013 after being so inspired by the Montessori Philosophy she observed while witnessing her son attend Seaside Montessori.  She conducted her teaching internship during the 2012-2013 school year at Seaside and now enjoys being a part of the early childhood teaching staff for Seaside.


Miss Denise has also published a food allergy children’s cookbook, Yummy Yum for Everyone: A Children's Allergy Cookbook, on Amazon.com and BarnesandNobles.com that removes the most common eight allergens from food.
